I've witness God open the flood gates
and let it all come crashing down
I've watched the blisters from a burnt sky
leaking all the pressure out

like a desperate ranting swell
So many times I've seen redemption
in nasty weather, tucker out

I’ve witnessed God offer protection
from the sully of a storm
I’ve watched a desperate man neglected
in the billows of forlorn

So long I’ve sued for consolation
for any freedom from the pain
